Searching for gifts for men ?
Directed to the 40ish crowd, do men take advantage of women buying them gifts? Or use old rule NO GIFTS?
Q) Family thinks you don't buy men gifts. If he spends money on you but not on him.
A) Of course men do. However, I don't. They buy for me. That's always been my standard. Now, I am married and I DO buy him things. He feels blessed so I reciprocate.
Gifts for men that are $10/ max?
Q) Hey I need help? My husband has like 10, 000 relatives. I think it is both unnecessary & also quite a burden to have to buy gifts for so many people. However, we have been doing it for five years, 4 of which I have been a SAHM. We just had another baby & honestly we really can't afford to buy gifts for all these people.....but we are going to his parents this Christmas & it would be really awkward to not have a gift for everybody. So I need some ideas, particularly for men's gifts. Help is appreciated!
A) A swiss army knife or a multi tool will do the trick - men always need them
What kinds of generic gifts do men like?
Q) I need some good gift ideas for men - stuff that any man would like. Just as you can almost always buy bath stuff for women or gift cert to clothes store, what kinds of generic gifts do men like? I'm talking men in the 40+ year old age range. I already have stuff like gift cert to home depot, microbrewery samples etc. Ok guys out there - what kind of generic gift would YOU like to receive? Please try to keep ideas in the $20-$50 range.
A) Cologne, nail care kit, pajama pants, gift card to Total Wine and More(or some other upscale alcohol beverage store). I think I would try to stay away from the gift card thing though because it seems like you put less thought into it. Most men love getting manicures even though they don't like to admit it. And pajamas are always a safe way to go and you can get a good brand for under 50 dollars. You can get a great nail care kit for under 50 dollars and every man is diligent about taking care of there nails. Good luck!
What are so inexpensive gifts that men will actually enjoy?
Q) I'm pregnant and my daughter is due Nov 29th. I want to get all my Christmas shopping done ahead of time so I don't have to shop with a newborn or shop the day after Thanksgiving and end up in labor at a store. :p Shopping for women is easy, but what do men like? I need cheap gifts for a 14 year old, an 18 year old, a 40 year old, a 45 year old, a 60 year year old, and a 67 year old. Lots of people, and I don't have too much money to spend. What do men like at various ages? I don't want to get something junky, but something small that they would actually enjoy.
A) Don't overlook subscriptions to magazines of interest to them. It's difficult not knowing what their interests are, but if the boys are into model cars or planes they're reasonable and fun. If any of the men like to fiddle around in the shop or garage building or fixing things a box of basic paper towels, wd-40,hand washing cream, shop towels is always a great gift. If the 18 y/o has a car, car wash, wax and such is a good gift.
Is it wrong that i dont like to accept gifts or money from men i dont like.?
Q) Member since: August 21, 2006 Total points: 5,589 (Level 5) Points earned this week: --% Best answer aning S Men: what do you think of women who? ask money or say that if you want to call them you need to give them money or something like they want you to spend for them i hate this attitude, i serioulsly wish my sister and cousin dont accept gifts from men, because i know that when you accept gifts from suitors that you dont even like then you are giving them the wrong idea and i dont like men to walk or drive me home when i dont even like them, i tell them simple and easy what i feel so that i wont hurt them by letting them on. i just cant beleive that my cousin and sister actually ask for money from their boyfriends, i hate that, i think a woman and a man must be equal especially with money, if my bf would treat me i would also pay half of the bill what do you think
A) You are correct. Women should not make it a practice to use men for money. It leads to those men thinking that women can be bought for a price. Focus on your own goals and dreams and you'll have your own money and attract men who know what a real relationship is really all about.
Do you think it is OK for a female to accept gifts from men and not expect them to want anything in return?
Q) This question is for men and woman. I do not mean a house or a car? Just small gifts here and there and the other person is not bf or gf.
A) It's ok for anyone to accept a gift and not expect to return the favor. Unless you know that the person who is giving the gift to you is a scumbag. Then you owe it to yourself to decline.
What is the top 3 gifts men like to have?
Q) This is geared for men. Please state your age too. Thanks ^^
A) After-shave or cologne (girls are so much better at picking ones they like the smell of than we are). New and possibly interesting underwear -- like something with different colors. We'll never buy it for ourselves. Only don't change the "type," if we like briefs, get briefs not boxers? Something high-tech and cool -- like an iPod, a big-screen plasma TV, etc. Price isn't really the issue, but coolness and newness is. And if all that fails -- we always love to get sex ;-) I'm 46.
Why do men buy their woman gifts? (e.g., nothing fancy: coffee cups, shirts, gadgets).?
Q) Just wondering, in general, why men buy gifts? Does it mean you are "his woman"? Should a woman buy a gift for him, too, or is it a one-way deal men like to do? [Sorry this is not one question!]
A) They are probably buying you a gift, so you will do the same to show affection that they are craving from you.
Opinions on the Topic of Men Giving Gifts to Women?
Q) Got this quote from a book I'm reading. Opinions on the topic. Please denote if you male or female. On the topic of men giving gifts to women and buying them things: Many women will take what is available to them (even if they have to do a little manipulation for it), but they will ultimately resent and disrespect a man that gives too much to them. As a matter of fact, to most hot women THEIR REALITY is that men kiss up to them and that men will give them what they ask for or demand (worst case, they have to get upset or act bitchy to get their way). AGAIN, THIS IS THEIR REALITY. Men that don't fit this are often just tuned out as if they didn't exist in order to keep this reality as pure as possible for them. (Also, I think that many women harbor a contempt for their beauty. At a shadow level, they are kept from living a real life and being closer to the real world simply because fewer and fewer people can relate to them in proportion to how 'beautiful' they are and make themselves
A) I think the type of woman described above give women like me a bad name? If my husband had given me a gift when we were dating, it was more the fact that he thought about giving it in the first place. I never expected gifts or for him to pay my way (it could be that i was already financially set when we got together, and could pay my own rent and such.). When it was time for the ring, he kept asking "is it big enough?", when i clearly told him i wanted a small ring, specifically so I didn't look like that kind of thing mattered to me. Not to mention, I'm pretty practical, and would rather put money into our house. I think some women just feel they're entitled to money and gifts, as though their you-know-what is worth that much...and it's sad to see guys fall for that.
